Students will practice speaking about their daily routines by using the correct grammar structure and time expressions. They will also listen to an audio, answer questions based on it, and engage with peers by asking questions about each other’s routines.
Professional Setup:
Active Engagement:
Trainer’s Script:
“Hello, everyone! Welcome to today’s session where we’ll talk about our daily routines. Talking about your daily activities in the right order will help you become more fluent. Let me start by sharing my own routine to give you an example.”
Trainer’s Example:
“First, I wake up at 6:00 AM. I start my day by stretching and making my bed. Then, I have breakfast with my family. After breakfast, I get ready for work, and I leave at 8:00 AM. I work from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM, then I go to the gym for an hour. Afterward, I relax by reading or watching TV, then I have dinner with my family. Finally, I go to bed by 10:30 PM.”
Trainer’s Script:
“Now that I’ve shared my routine, let’s go over how I described my day. We use action verbs and time expressions to talk about our daily routine. Here’s how we can structure our sentences:
Here’s an example of the sentence structure:
First, I wake up at 7:00 AM. Then, I eat breakfast. Next, I go to school. Finally, I go to bed at 9:00 PM.”
Trainer’s Script:
“Now it’s your turn to share your daily routines with the class. Remember to use the structure we just learned. Start with First, then use next, then, and finally to talk about your day. Don’t forget to use action verbs like wake up, eat, and go.”
(Encourage each student to take turns sharing their routine. Give each student the chance to talk.)
Trainer’s Script:
“Great job, everyone! Now, I want you to practice asking each other questions about your daily routines. After someone shares, ask them a question like What time do you wake up? or What do you do after school? This will help you get better at speaking and understanding others.”
(Encourage students to ask at least one question to their peers about their routines.)
Trainer’s Script:
“Now that we’ve practiced how to talk about our routines, let’s listen to Emily share hers. Listen carefully, and pay attention to how she uses action verbs and time expressions to talk about her day.”
(Play Emily’s audio about her daily routine.)
Hi there! My name is Emily, and today I’m going to tell you all about my daily routine. I wake up bright and early at 6:30 AM. The first thing I do is stretch and get out of bed. After that, I head straight to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. It helps me feel fresh and ready for the day!
Next, I have breakfast with my family. I love having toast with jam and a glass of orange juice. After breakfast, I get dressed for school. I usually wear my school uniform, and then it’s time to pack my school bag with everything I need for the day.
At school, I go to different classes like math, science, and art. After that, I have lunch with my friends, and we always laugh and share stories. In the afternoon, we have recess, and I love playing games outside.
Once school is over, I come home around 4 PM. I usually do my homework first so I don’t forget it later. Then, I relax by reading a book or watching my favorite show. By 7 PM, it’s time for dinner. I enjoy having a nice family meal.
After dinner, I take a bath, brush my teeth again, and get ready for bed. I like to read a story before falling asleep. I usually go to bed by 9 PM, and then I’m ready to start the next day!
